This course is specifically targeted to childcare workers and teachers. Meeting the requirements of  the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) requirements, this accredited course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively manage Asthma & Anaphylaxis emergencies in a childcare setting Entry Requirements
There are no pre-requisites for this course; however it is recommended that participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the Asthma & Anaphylaxis training
Duration 3-4 hours
This Asthma & Anaphylaxis course is run over a period on 3 hours face-to-face. There is no mandatory pre-course learning prior to training.
Requirements for Completion
Participants are required to attend 100% of this Asthma & Anaphylaxis training and take part in all assessments .

22024VIC – Course in Emergency Management of Asthma in the Workplace

This course covers skills and knowledge in the Emergency Management of Asthma in the Workplace Courses includes Risk Management & Epipen training
Course content includes

  • Develop risk minimisation and management strategies for an asthma emergency
  • Assess emergency asthma situations
  • Provide the appropriate first aid treatment for an asthma attack
  • Communicate details of emergency asthma incident
  • Evaluate responses to asthma emergencies

22300VIC– First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis

This practical course covers skills and knowledge in the First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis.
Course content includes

  • Assess the situation and respond
  • Provide appropriate first aid treatment for anaphylactic reaction
  • Communicate details of the anaphylactic incident
  • Evaluate first aid response to anaphylactic reaction
  • Identify individuals at risk of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
  • Develop individual anaphylaxis management plans
  • Implement strategies to prevent allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
  • Develop strategies to raise awareness of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis

Qualification Issued Statement of Attainment in the following unit of competancy 22282  Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis 22024VIC Course in the Emergency Management of Asthma in the Workplace Qualification Validity Three (3) years from date of issue. Asthma & Anaphylaxis refresher training should be undertaken every three years as per ACECQA requirements. Our comprehensive student management system will remind you a month before your Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificate is due to be refreshed
